Staff Overview

One of the key components to our successful community business is our staff team. We opened for business on the 23rd of January 1989, 31 years ago, three staff members have been employed at the centre since that first year and many of the remaining staff team have been with us long term. All staff hold current qualifications in current first aid including Asthma and Anaphylaxis.

Director

The centre director Lisa Winckel has been with us for 15 years - starting as a student from TafeSA. She started as the director in 2020.

Marian Hathazi holds the role of Assistant Director and has been at the centre for 30 years. She works in the office 4 days a fortnight and in the rooms for 5 days per fortnight.

Joey’s Pouch Team

Deb is Team Leader and has been with us for 8 years, she has a Diploma in Children’s Services.

Linda is a team member and has been with us for 22 years, she works part time and has a Diploma of Children's Services.

Zena is a part time team member and has been with us for 26 years, she works a 9 day fortnight and has a Diploma of Children's Services.

Emma is a part time team member and has been with us for 10 years, she works every day and has a Diploma of Children’s Services.

Kirsty is currently studying her Diploma of Children’s Services. She works in the room part time and has been with us for almost 2 years.

Bear Cave Team

Penny is the Team Leader and has been with us for 16 years she works full time and has a Diploma of Children's Services.

Krupa has been working with us for 6 years. She has her certificate 3 and works part time.

Taylah works full time, and has a Diploma of Children's Services. She joined the team in 2019.

Bron works three days each week, and has a Diploma of Children's Services. Bron is our newest staff member joining us in 2020.

Koala Room Team

Kathy has been with us for 30 years, has a Diploma of Children's Services and works four days each week.

Michaela has been with us for 5 years, has a Diploma of Children's Services and works full time.

Kitchen

Jacky our in-house cook is a part time team member who works four days each week. She has been with us for 30 years and has an amazing repertoire of meals that she prepares for the children. Many children have complex dietary requirements and Jacky is available to speak with parents/carers about their needs.

Jacky also oversees the recycling of various materials at the centre ranging from food scraps, paper and plastics.

Chris works in the kitchen one day each week.
